Kirstine Wallace
Kirsty has worked with both public and private arts organisations to cultivate relationships, develop programme strands, connect audiences, commission and produce new work.
Before A-I-R, Kirsty was International Advisor to Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. Kirsty also worked at the V&A, LTB Foundation, The Gilbert Collection and The Wallace Collection. Internationally, she led major commissions with James Turrell, and exhibitions including Mark Rothko, Carsten Holler, Performa, Christian Marclay, William Kentridge, Marina Abramovic and John Baldessari. She was Co-Creator of The Museum of Everything, Russia and led research teams to support an exhibition project at MONA (Tasmania) and co-curated an inaugural large-scale annual family event entitled Art Experiment.
Recently, Kirsty has been collaborating with Theodore Zeldin on the socially-engaged artistic practice of conversation in South Korea (Museum and University of Seoul), Latvia (Riga Biennial of Contemporary Art) and Finland (Stina Krook Foundation/Amos Rex Museum). She was also commissioned to create a cultural strategy with recommendations for the transformation of Great Grimsby, Lincolnshire with Curatorial Director Louise Shannon, including consultation and research, place making schemes, rearticulation of existing cultural spaces and large-scale new commissions.
